The video below is the first time the engine was started. This engine has not roared in anger for a very long time. The mix was too rich and the ignition was retarded plus there was a good amount of oil in the initial fuel.
Gearbox Test
First test of the rebuilt gearbox in the video below, engaging a gear and then working up through the gears on the chassis dyno. That is Rodney from Superior Automotive Services in the drivers seat. Rodney and his team rebuilt the motor.
Running In
Initial running in of engine and new ring and pinion.
The power runs to assess power output and undertake detailed adjustment of ignition timing and fuel mix will be after the engine has bed it'self in.
